This tutorial is my own creation, any resemblance to another tutorial is purely
coincidental. I made it using PSP 7 but it should work in PSP 8.
|
For this tutorial you will need Xenofex. I used Xenofex 2 but you can get similar
results with Xenofex 1.
Click Here to download my mask and
corner brush. Put the mask in the PSP Masks folder and the brush in the PSP7 Brushes
folder. PSP8 users need to go to File/Import/Custom brush to make it available
(Thanks Ginny ; ).

Right click on the image and 'Save Picture As'.
|

You can move this arrow to mark your place in the tutorial so you don't get lost. |
Step 1
Open the image. Set your background color to the green in the bottom left corner of
the image and the foreground color to the tan in the top right corner. Here are the
colors I used. Right
click and save if you want to use the same colors. If you are using a
different graphic, select 2 midtone colors from the graphic. Dark or bright colors
don't work well for this. Add a new raster layer and flood fill it with the tan
color. Go to Masks/Load from disk and apply SPtreebranch.msk Select
Masks/Delete and click 'Yes'. Now apply Effects/Inner Bevel with the default
settings for Metallic. See below. Merge All (flatten).
|

|
Step 2
. Now we will be using the little arrows to switch between the foreground and
background colors. Starting with green as the background add a border of 2, switch
colors and add a border of 2 with tan. Continue swithching colors and repeating the
borders of 2 until you have a total of 5 (3 green and2 tan). Go t Selections/Select
All then Selections/Modify/Contract by 10. Selections/Invert. Apply the same
Inner Bevel as in step 1. Selections/Select None.
|
Step3
Switch to tan background and add a 25 pixel border. Select the border and
apply Xenofex 2/Little Flluffy Clouds with the settings below. Notice that on the
Camera and Sky tab that NOTHING is checked.
|

|

|
OR Select the
border and apply Xenofex 1/Little Flluffy Clouds with the settings below. |

|
Step 4
Repeat step 2
|
Step 5
Add a new raster layer. Use the brush tool and select the custom brush SPcorner.jbr
and set the size to 115, color set to the same tan we used for the wide border. Add
the top right corner and adjust it so it is straight. Now, X out the background
image (with the little eye glasses) and duplicate the corner layer. Go to
Images/Flip and then Merge Visible the two layers. Duplicate the merged layer and
then Images/Mirror. Merge Visible these 2 layers. Turn the background image
back on.
|
Step 6
Apply the same Metallic Inner Bevel to the merged corners layer as we used
before. Add a small drop shadow with the numbers below. Repeat the shadow
with -1 vertical and -1 horizontal.
|

|
That's it! You did it. Now you can Merge All (flatten) and save.
