This tutorial is my own creation, any resemblance to another tutorial is purely
coincidental. I made it using PSP 7 but it should work in PSP 8.
This is an easy and fun tutorial. The possibilities are endless. Have fun
playing with different letters and different fonts. I used Blade Pro for the design
above but it is optional. The samples at the bottom of the page were done with PSP
Inner Bevel.

You can move this arrow to mark your place in the tutorial so you don't get lost
Open a 400x400 black image. Add a new raster layer. We will be working with
the transparent layers. I used a black background layer so the white text would
show. It can be deleted later.
Click on the text button and use the settings below. I chose the capital Y,
French Script, size 72 with the colors set to White.

Go to the Layers Pallet, right click on the text layer and select Duplicate.
Go to Images and select Flip then Images/Mirror. See below.

You should now have something that looks like the image below. Use the Move tool to
line them up with a small space between them. X out the black background layer and
Merge Visible the other 2 layers. Name it Layer1

Now for the fun! Duplicate Layer1 and name it Layer2. Select layer2 and go to
Images/ Rotate and use the settings below I used Right/Free/45 with All Layers
UNCHECKED. It should look like the sample below.

Now duplicate the Layer2 and name it Layer3. Repeat the Images/Rotate with
Layer3 the same as before.
Duplicate Layer3 and name it Layer4. Repeat the Images/Rotate again. X out the
black backgournd again and Merge Visible all of the other layers.
Apply your favorite Blade Pro preset ( I used Autumn on the top one). or you can select it
and flood fill with color of your choice and use a simple PSP Inner Bevel likeI used on
the ones below.
That's it! You did it. Now you can merge all flatten or delete the black
backgournd layer and export it as a tube or transparent .gif.
